2024 Topps Update in the stocking

I hope everyone had an excellent Christmas, full of family, friends, and food. 

Cards can be difficult gifts to buy. Unless the giver knows exactly what you collect or you have dropped the right hints. So being gifted cards from the family is a very nice surprise. When we were opening our stockings I reached into mine and, hmm, this feels like a familiar type package. 

A hanger box of 2024 Topps Update. 

Our town's retailers received very little of this product, and at the time I ignored it, and then it was gone. So I'm not sure how long they have had this stashed away for me. Thoughtful children I must say!

So, let's see what it held. 




The Wacha is a serial numbered out of 50 Yellow Crackle. 

Base card rookie of Jackson Merrill, and Rookie Debuts of Paul Skenes of Merrill also appeared. 


A collector since my early years. Sometimes a collector without focus. If it piques my interest I may collect it.

A quick Sunday post with nothing of real substance because its been a day of house repairs around here -plumbing and caulking.  How do two sinks in different rooms develop issues at the same time? Demons...  My, er, reward was a clearance pack of 2021 Panini Chronicles Football. And so it begins...

 It was a weekly routine for my brother, parents, and I to visit my grandparents just about every Saturday evening in the winter months. Watch some Toronto Maple Leafs action and get caught up on life and such.  For some reason (out of the ordinary) on the way home we stopped at a variety store. This was one of the items dad bought, for me. I had never seen this before. Dad knew that as a 7 year old hockey fanatic that I would appreciate this surprise. What he didn't know is what he started. The mail is moving again!

  Well, a few hours ago it officially became winter. YAY.  I am not a cold weather enthusiast in the least.  It's 3F/-16C here and I need to hit some downtown boutique shops for a couple of more gifts for Mrs. TnT.  The mail brought some spring into the house yesterday. What is more spring than Butterflies?  Baseball spring training for most readers. I promise to have some baseball content very soon.  In the meantime, 1938 Gallaher Butterflies and Moths set. These three put me at 9 out of the 48 cards in the set.     This card is from the 1911 Imperial Tobacco Co. of Canada Butterflies and Moths set of 50. I've got a ways to go as this is only my second. Some of these unbranded sets can be very challenging to identify as many are cataloged as "Anonymous". I would love to see an image of the album that is mentioned on the back.
