Gallery Masterpiece completed

This final mail day post of 2024 was slated to be more Sportlots vintage non-sports. But the mail delivery today brought something way more exciting!

2018 Topps Gallery inserts!!

With my COMC shipment request going back to early November and the postal strike I was getting antsy. There may have been a key card or two involved. 

These 12 put the Masterpiece set of 30 to bed! 



Next target is the Heritage inserts. These 2 get me within 2 to complete. The Ohtani is going to set me back a few bucks but I will get it before the season starts. The other is Molina. 


The Hall of Fame Gallery set was completed last September. 

I am undecided on chasing the Impressionists set. I am at 7 of the 30. If I can get the Ohtani for a decent price I just might go for it. 

The other goal for 2018 Gallery is the Wood parallel. I'm at 120 of 150. This should be fairly easy. The one big card on this want list is the Ronald Acuña Jr.

The other card in this order is from the 2003 Fleer Avant set. One of my favorite sets that will be the topic of its own post in January.

A quick Sunday post with nothing of real substance because its been a day of house repairs around here -plumbing and caulking.  How do two sinks in different rooms develop issues at the same time? Demons...  My, er, reward was a clearance pack of 2021 Panini Chronicles Football. Timely I reckon for week 18.  The pack wrapper had a huge ugly clearance sticker on it, so no picture.   Here are the base cards, The base cards are quite decent. Nice layout and good card stock. And so it begins...

 It was a weekly routine for my brother, parents, and I to visit my grandparents just about every Saturday evening in the winter months. Watch some Toronto Maple Leafs action and get caught up on life and such.  For some reason (out of the ordinary) on the way home we stopped at a variety store. This was one of the items dad bought, for me. I had never seen this before. Dad knew that as a 7 year old hockey fanatic that I would appreciate this surprise. What he didn't know is what he started. The mail is moving again!

  Well, a few hours ago it officially became winter. YAY.  I am not a cold weather enthusiast in the least.  It's 3F/-16C here and I need to hit some downtown boutique shops for a couple of more gifts for Mrs. TnT.  The mail brought some spring into the house yesterday. What is more spring than Butterflies?  Baseball spring training for most readers. I promise to have some baseball content very soon.  In the meantime, 1938 Gallaher Butterflies and Moths set. These three put me at 9 out of the 48 cards in the set.     This card is from the 1911 Imperial Tobacco Co. of Canada Butterflies and Moths set of 50. I've got a ways to go as this is only my second. Some of these unbranded sets can be very challenging to identify as many are cataloged as "Anonymous". I would love to see an image of the album that is mentioned on the back.
