And so it begins...

It was a weekly routine for my brother, parents, and I to visit my grandparents just about every Saturday evening in the winter months. Watch some Toronto Maple Leafs action and get caught up on life and such.

For some reason (out of the ordinary) on the way home we stopped at a variety store. This was one of the items dad bought, for me. I had never seen this before. Dad knew that as a 7 year old hockey fanatic that I would appreciate this surprise. What he didn't know is what he started. A lifetime of collecting.

1973-74 OPC pack.

In the past 50 years, good grief, my hobbies have varied. Some were just fleeting, some are still on the periphery, and some have stuck. It is sort of why I chose the name of the blog. A little this and a little that. Cards, though, have been my hobby mainstay. As a dealer, show promoter, store owner, collector, and now a wannabe blogger.

I am not setting any crazy expectations for this blog nor my self. I want to share stories and thoughts about things I have experienced in the industry and hobby and talk about items I like to collect. Perhaps I can offer some insights on things that may help readers with their collecting.
The odd box break and some random pack ripping will happen. Mail days of course. I'll try to figure out some giveaways. Everyone loves free stuff.

Looking forward to this part of the hobby journey, all thanks to dad.

  1. Looking forward to another card blog to read! I don't expect you'll start trading on TCDB again?
