Completions - Catwoman - COMC

It's no secret that COMC is a crazy, wonderful rabbit hole to get lost in. What starts so innocently - let's finish some sets - becomes an order full of randomness as life around you inspires you to seek out cards that meet the moments.

I had written previously about a couple of targets I wanted to knock down before the baseball season opens - the 2018 Topps Gallery Heritage Ohtani -  was one of them. It wasn't going to get any cheaper the longer I waited.

Just need the Molina to finish this 40 card set. For whatever reason, it has not been available on COMC for many months. Patience.

The other target was finishing the 1985 Donruss set. The Tom Seaver is the corrected version which I felt was a little overpriced but at the end of the day, done!

Now it gets a little offbeat.

Mrs. TnT and I celebrated a quiet New Year's Eve at home. Before turning on the obligatory Times Square countdown, we watched The Union with Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg. It was a decent entertaining movie. I'd recommend it.
The following day while we recovered from staying up past midnight we landed on a rerun of Celebrity IOU where the guest that week was Halle Berry. It was a touching episode, and I think we became bigger fans of her after that.
You see where I'm going with this, right.

I have a decent non-sports collection so I checked to see what cards I had of Ms. Berry. This is it?!

That is not going to do. I must get something nicer, without breaking the budget. This 2019 UD James Bond Collection was ok. But it's just a base card.

Was there better?

I thought perhaps an auto might be a possibility. Ha! No chance I could justify those numbers, so I settled for a patch card.

2004 Inkworks Catwoman. According to the card it is a piece of her sweater from the movie.

That's better!

Three lingering sets were knocked out as I added to the order on subsequent evenings. Yeah, Sportlots might have been cheaper, but it is sooo easy on COMC.

1991 Impel GI Joe, 1996 Dart Battlestar Galactica, and 1992 Pro Set Beauty and the Beast are done.

The Goo Goo Dolls card was added when I was writing this post . According to the Database they only have 5 cards. The other 4 are some Leaf ticket stub relic nonsense with no pictures of the band. Nope!

I have no idea why I picked this next card, 1970 Cadbury. I must have been reading something on Vintage Non-sport, I guess. I don't know.

This card is an example of what happens when you hear an old song  you like while browsing the site. It was cheap enough not to give it a second thought.

It is from an on-demand set, 2018 Topps 80th Anniversary Wrapper Art, similar to Topps Now.
If you are looking for something interesting, have a look at the checklist The four major sports have historic wrappers represented so it's not just a non-sport set.
My BCR card apparently was not too popular as only 238 were ordered. A win for me!

There we have it. The randomness of my collecting. Thanks for reading!
